To The Moon Privacy Policy

To The Moon ("the App") is a free, ad-supported beginner run-training application with an optional cumulative-distance milestone journey. This page explains how the App handles information when you use it. To The Moon is designed to be private and offline-first: your runs, routes and settings stay on your device.

Information Collection And Use

The App does not require an account, a login, or any personal details to use. We do not collect, store, or transmit personally identifiable information about you.

Everything the App records - your training progress, session history, routes and settings - is stored only on your device, in a local database (SQLite). This content is never uploaded to us or to any server, and there is no cloud sync or backup of any kind. Because this data stays on your device, uninstalling the App permanently removes it.

Location And Run Tracking

GPS run tracking is optional and stays off until you turn it on for a run. When it is on, the App reads your device location (approximate and precise) only while a run is in progress - shown by an ongoing notification - to measure your distance and pace and to draw that session's route. Your location is used entirely on your device for that purpose. It is never shared with us or any third party and is never used for advertising. The App uses while-in-use location only and does not track your location in the background.

Health And Fitness Data

To The Moon is a fitness training tool, not a medical device. It does not collect biometric or health data, it does not integrate with Health Connect or any health platform, and it makes no medical or health claims.

Exports

The App can export a run as a GPX file or a PDF summary. Exports are created only at your request and are saved or shared only through the method you choose, using your device's standard share sheet. We do not receive your exports.

Third-party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

Google AdMob - used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising ID), IP address, and usage data to serve personalised or non-personalised ads. Advertising And Consent

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, including a banner, occasional full-screen interstitials at natural breaks (finishing a session, opening the packs screen, or exporting a run - never during a run), and optional rewarded videos that open all milestone packs and permanently unlock training programs and open a 24-hour window with no full-screen ads. Ads may use device identifiers (including the advertising ID) to provide relevant advertising. Your location and run data are never sent to ad networks. Where required (for example, for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent before serving personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings under Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

Permissions Used

Network and internet access - to display ads through Google AdMob. Location (precise and approximate) - only while you have run tracking turned on, as described above. Foreground service (location) - to keep a run measuring accurately while the App is in the background during that run, with an ongoing notification. Notifications - for run-day reminders and the run-tracking notification. The App does not request contacts, microphone, or camera permissions, and does not use background location.

Log Data

In the event of an error, the App may collect diagnostic data ("Log Data") through third-party services. This Log Data may include your device name, operating system version, the configuration of the App, the time and date of use, and other statistics.

Links To Other Sites

The App may contain links to external websites. These external sites are not operated by us, and we advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over the content or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. You are advised to review this page periodically.
