Theatre Command Privacy Policy

Theatre Command ("the App") is a free, ad-supported Android game: a turn-based hex wargame played against the computer. This page explains how the App handles information when you use it. Theatre Command is offline by design - it has no account, no server and no cloud, and the only component in it that uses the network is the advertising SDK described below.

Information Collection And Use

The App does not require an account, a login, an email address or any personal details to use. We do not collect, store, or transmit personally identifiable information about you.

Everything the App records - your saved campaign, the board and every unit on it, which theatre and mode you last played, and your sound, performance and display settings - is stored only on your device, in a local database (SQLite) and in the App's own settings. There is no cloud sync, no online account, no leaderboard, no multiplayer and no server-side copy of any kind, because there is no server. Because this data stays on your device, uninstalling the App permanently removes it.

Every theatre, unit, terrain and rule definition ships inside the App as data files. The App downloads no content, checks for no updates of its own, and contacts no service other than the advertising and consent components below.

The App has no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no telemetry of its own.

Third-party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect information:

Google AdMob - used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data in order to serve and measure personalised or non-personalised ads. The advertising identifier read by these components is the only data that leaves your device.

Advertising And Consent

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of the screen during play, and full-screen ads at deliberate breaks in play - the end of a battle, changing theatre or mode, surrendering, starting a new battle, changing the performance setting, committing to the strategic weapons programme, and after every third purchase on the Command screen. A full-screen ad is never shown while a turn is resolving. Optional rewarded videos are offered in two places, both started by you: one turns off all advertising, banner included, for the rest of that run of the App, and one restarts a lost battle with a stronger opening force.

Ads may use device identifiers (including the advertising ID) to provide relevant advertising. Where required (for example, for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent before serving personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings under Google, Ads, Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

There are no in-app purchases and no paid version. Nothing in the game is locked behind an advertisement.

Permissions Used

Network access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) - used solely to ask for advertising consent and to load advertisements through Google AdMob. The App has no other online feature. The App does not request location, camera, microphone, storage, contacts, calendar or notification permissions of any kind.

Log Data

The App itself records no diagnostic or usage data and sends none anywhere. In the course of serving ads, Google's advertising components may receive standard technical information such as your device model, operating system version, IP address and the time of use, as described in Google's privacy policy.

Links To Other Sites

The App may contain links to external websites. These external sites are not operated by us, and we advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over the content or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

The App is a military strategy game intended for a general audience of teenagers and adults, and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. You are advised to review this page periodically.
