Subscription Wallet Privacy Policy

Subscription Wallet is made by Horizon Software. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with information.

The Short Version

Subscription Wallet has no accounts, no sign-up and no cloud storage. Everything you enter - your subscriptions, their prices, your notes, your usage - is stored on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else.

What We Collect

Horizon Software collects nothing. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry, and no account. We have no server that your data could be sent to.

What Is Stored On Your Device

  • The subscriptions you add, including names, amounts, currencies, categories, renewal dates and any notes.
  • Their price history, recorded when you change an amount.
  • A record of the days you tapped "used today" on a subscription, if you use that feature.
  • Your settings, such as your default currency and whether reminders are on.
  • Details of any subscription you have chosen to share with another person, including a code identifying that pairing.

This information stays in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it. If you make a backup file, that file contains all of the above, and where you keep it is your choice.

When The App Uses The Internet

The app makes one kind of request of its own: it fetches public exchange rates, at most once a day, and only if you have unlocked currency conversion. That request sends no information about you or your subscriptions - it asks for a public rate table and nothing more.

Everything else happens on your device. In particular:

  • Importing a bank CSV reads the file you choose, on your device. The file is never uploaded.
  • Sharing a subscription with someone produces a code that you send yourself, by whatever app you choose. It does not pass through any server of ours.
  • Exports and backups are written to your device and handed to your phone's own share sheet. Where they go next is entirely up to you.

Advertising

The app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To do that, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information from your device, which typically includes your advertising ID and device information. That collection is Google's, not ours, and is covered by Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

On first launch you will be asked how ads may be personalised. You can change that answer at any time. If you decline personalised ads you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your advertising profile.

Watching an optional rewarded video unlocks extra subscription slots, currency conversion, or twelve hours without interruptions. Nothing about your subscriptions is sent to the ad network.

Permissions

  • Notifications - so the app can remind you before a renewal. Asked for after you add your first subscription. Decline it and the rest of the app works normally.
  • Camera - only if you choose to scan a sharing code. Nothing is recorded and no image is kept. You can always type the code instead.
  • Files - only when you pick a bank CSV to import, or a backup file to restore. The app reads the file you choose and nothing else.
  • The app does not request location, contacts or microphone permissions.

Children

Subscription Wallet is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your Choices

Because nothing leaves your device, there is no account to close and no data for us to delete on your behalf. You are in control of it:

  • Delete any subscription in the app.
  • Uninstall the app to remove everything it stored.
  • Reset your advertising ID in your device's settings at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
